Malcolm Gladwell is the author of “Tipping Point” a watershed book that made sense of the world we live in when we couldn’t quite put our finger on it ourselves. He did and it struck home with millions worldwide.
Ever since that book I have read, with interest, his other publications and he still makes good sense of what’s going on and not without a little humour which makes it more enjoyable.
I came across a presentation of his with the title I’ve used in the subject line above. While humour is at the forefront he makes some interesting remarks along the way.
The challenge I find with Malcolm is applying his stories to my business and indeed those of my clients and prospects. It requires thought, not always easy, and sometimes asks questions for which I have no answer. The search for answers though leads you down a road not usually walked by your competitors.
So how does “spaghetti sauce” relate to our industry? This is probably not the question. How well do we challenge what exists now and what do we need to do that may set us apart from the norm. That could be a more interesting and rewarding question, let me know in the comments below.
